After declining several out-of-state football offers, Chris decided to attend the UT McCombs School of Business to study Finance. He walked on the UT football team in the spring of freshman year (2019), following open tryouts.

Second Baptist School
Chris played linebacker for Second Baptist (2015-2017) and was a two-time All-State and All-District honoree. Senior year, Chris was named Defensive MVP, having recorded 105 tackles and 22.5 sacks on the season. He was a team captain and he organized a weekly team Bible study. Chris helped lead Second Baptist to three district titles and deep state playoff runs. Outside of football, Chris founded and led the SBS Business Club (10th-12th grade) and he played on the 2018 Second Baptist State Championship Golf Team. Chris graduated Summa Cum Laude, as an AP Scholar, in 2018.
