PROFESSIONAL:
July 2021 - Jared Pettitte signs a free agent contract with the Miami Marlins. Jared Pettitte, a 23-year-old lefty, split his collegiate career between the University of Houston and Dallas Baptist University. He made 13 appearances (four of them starts) for the Patriots in 2021, compiling a 5.81 ERA and a 1.24 strikeout-to-walk ratio. For the entirety of his college experience, he appeared 24 times with marks of a 6.29 ERA and a 1.15 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Pettitte was not ranked on Baseball America's top 500 draft prospects list. He told Mark Berman of FOX 26, "It's literally a dream come true. All I wanted was an opportunity to play professional baseball."

COLLEGE:
2020 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR – HOUSTON)
Made five appearances, including three starts before the season was canceled … All three starts came in the Sunday role in the weekend rotation … Matched a career-high in strikeouts (4) in his first start of the year versus Youngstown State (2/16) … Worked a career-high 5.1 innings and allowed just two runs versus Texas Tech (2/23).

2019 (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE – HOUSTON)
Made six appearances, including four starts in the midweek role … Posted a 1-1 record and struck out 11 batters over 10.2 innings for a pitching staff that led the American Athletic Conference in ERA (3.82) and opponent batting average (.238) … Held UT San Antonio (3/12) scoreless over 1.0 inning in his collegiate debut … Earned his first career win in his first start at Stephen F. Austin (3/27) … Threw a season-high 3.0 innings in a start versus Sam Houston State (4/23) … Matched his season-high in innings against Rice (5/14) and struck out a season-best four batters.

2018 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN – HOUSTON)

2017 (FRESHMAN – HOUSTON)
Did not see game action in his first collegiate season after suffering a season-ending injury.
