2019: All-Silver Glove Series; Led the team in batting average (.308) and was one of only two Owls to start all 59 games – all while playing in his first Division I season in three years… All 59 starts were at second base, where he ended up playing 526.1 of the team’s 529.1 innings in the field (99.4 percent)… Led the Owls, and tied for fourth among the Conference USA league leaders, with five sac flies… Shared the team lead, and tied for ninth in C-USA, with 16 doubles… Also shared the team lead with six steals… Hit four triples to place second on the squad, tie for third in the league and tie for 67th among the NCAA leaders (as of the Owls’ final game in late May)… Placed third on the squad in hits (68), RBI (38) and slugging (.498)... Was a distant fifth on the team in hitting 14 games into the schedule (.288), then moved up to fourth at the midpoint of the season before closing out year with the Owls’ highest average (.308)… Hit an identical .308 when batting with the bases loaded (4-of-13), the second-most at bats on the squad in those situations… Batted .342 (25-of-73) in the pressure at bats of having two outs already recorded in the inning… Recorded 19 at bats with a teammate on third base and less than two outs, and drove-in the runner 10 times (.526)… Hit safely in seven-straight games and reached base in 10-consecutive games during one stretch… Collected two or more hits in a game 19 times, including a career-high three hits in a game six different times... Went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a sac fly and two RBI a single game against C-USA foe Middle Tennessee… Tallied two or more RBI in a game 11 different times (second-highest on the team), highlighted by four games with three RBI... Usually batted fifth or sixth in the order (36 times)… Reached base at a .318 pace (14-of-44) when leading off an inning... Proved to be a steady fielder and played just one defensive inning at another position (shortstop vs. Arizona)… Twice made a career-high seven put outs in a single game (vs. C-USA foes UTSA and FIU)… Recorded a career-best six defensive assists vs. Lamar... Turned or started 29 of the team’s 41 double plays.

Enrolled in Rice in January of 2018, but was not on the Owl baseball roster until the fall semester... Played the 2017 season at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona… Batted .324 with 47 hits in 42 games played to help lead the Coyotes to their first region playoff appearance in five years… Maintained a .428 on-base percentage and shared the team lead in sacrifice bunts (5)… Turned or started 17 double plays in the middle of the infield… Coached by Russell Luce… Played Division I baseball at Tulane in 2016… Appeared in 23 games, while working his way into 13 starts as a true freshman, for a 41-win Green Wave squad under then head coach David Pierce… Batted .211 with a .338 on-base percentage and scored 12 times... A 2015 graduate of Second Baptist High School in Houston… First-Team All-Greater Houston and a Louisville Slugger prep All-America selection… Batted .391 with seven home runs to help lead the Eagles to a second-place finish TAPPS 4A… Four-year varsity baseball letterman under head coach Jeff Schroeder, but also earned all-state playing varsity soccer… Named to the TAPPS Academic All-State team… Born Cade Matthew Edwards on Feb. 26, 1997…the son of Kelly and Todd Edwards (has three brothers and three sisters).

At Tulane:
2016 (Freshman): Appeared in 23 games with 13 starts (eight at second base, four at shortstop and one in left field)…batted .211 with 12 runs, 12 hits, four doubles, seven RBI, 10 walks and one stolen base…notched a slugging percentage of .281 while posting an on-base percentage of .338…recorded three multi-hit games and one multi-RBI game…ranked fifth on the team in assists (47) and sixth in fielding double plays (5)…made his Tulane debut as a defensive replacement vs. Illinois (2/19)...posted three RBI, a double and one run during a 2-for-4 day vs. Pepperdine (3/5)...made his first-career start vs. Pepperdine (3/6), notching an RBI...was 2-for-6 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI at New Orleans (3/9)...was 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks vs. Furman (3/11)...scored three runs while doubling vs. Furman (3/12)...notched an RBI, a hit and a walk vs. Furman (3/13)...doubled and scored a run at Texas (3/19)...was 1-for-3 with an RBI vs. Southern (5/11)...started in left field against Nicholls State (5/17).


HS: A four-year letterman …played shortstop and second base for the Eagles…batted .391 with seven home runs to help lead his team to a second-place finish in the TAPPS 4A league…earned first-team all-state, all-district and all-city honors as a senior in addition to picking up Louisville Slugger All-American honors…was also a First-Team All-Greater Houston and Team Texas selections…hit .382 with four homers as a junior, earning first-team all-state, first-team all-district and first-team all-city honors while leading his team to the state title…batted .334 with two homers as a sophomore, picking up first-team all-district honors…hit .310 with five home runs as a freshman, earning second-team all-district honors…also lettered four years in soccer as a center-forward, earning first-team all-state honors as a senior after scoring 29 goals…posted a school record 83 goals across his high school career to set the school record…off the field, was named an Academic All-State member.

Personal: the son of Kelly and Todd Edwards…has three brothers: Hudson, Niko and Kendall…has three sisters: Tori, Mary-Margaret and Mckenna.
