Stading posted the lowest era (2.79) among active pitchers in his first season on the mound for the Pirates. In nine appearances and three starts he posted a 2-1 record in 19.1 innings of work. Stading allowed 13 hits and nine runs, six earned, while walking four and striking out 11.

Jason, a 2010 graduate of Second Baptist High School, earned five varsity letters during his time with the Eagles, two in baseball, two in football, and one in basketball.
