Named All-Southland Conference Second Team, SLC Offensive Player of the Week during the third week of the season and CenturyLink Premier All-Tournament Team honors ... earned Preseason All-SLC First Team accolades prior to the season … ranked third in the Southland Conference with a .331 hitting percentage and fourth in the league with 1.16 blocks per set … helped the Bobcats to a conference-leading .256 team hitting percentage … finished the season with career highs in kills (188), blocks (117), hitting percentage (.331), digs (62) and aces (9) … played in 31 matches and 101 sets during the season … during the week she earned SLC Offensive Player of the Week, she led the team with 26 kills (2.36 kills per set) and a .468 hitting percentage during the CenturyLink Premier Tournament while also finishing second on the team with 12 blocks (1.09 blocks per set) ... had 13 kills with a .619 hitting percentage against North Texas (9/10) ... finished with a career-high 16 kills on 21 attempts for a .667 hitting percentage against McNeese State (10/2) ... recorded her first career double-double against UT Arlington (10/6) with 14 kills and 12 digs ... posted a career-high 10 blocks at Sam Houston State (10/28), finishing with eight assists and two solos.


2009

Named to the All-SLC First Team after finishing second in the conference in hitting percentage (.327) … hit .364 during SLC matches … led the team and ranked fourth in the Southland Conference in blocks, registering 104 stuffs in 101 sets of action (1.04 blocks per set) … had 19 solo blocks and 85 assisted blocks … tallied 178 kills (1.76 kills per set) … named to the Southern Methodist All-Tournament Team after recording 21 kills, 12 blocks and 10 digs during the three-game tournament, helping Texas State to a 2-1 record … earned SLC Defensive Player of the Week recognition after averaging 1.18 blocks per set during a three-game stretch in November … had a career-high 12 kills without committing an error (.706 hitting percentage) against McNeese State (10/31) … topped her career best with nine blocks against Lamar (11/21) … finished with 10-or-more points in 10 matches … recorded a season-high three solo blocks in the Bobcats’ 3-1 victory against Syracuse … had 10 kills in three different matches, hitting above .350 on each occasion.


2008

Competed in 30 matches and 66 sets during her freshman year ... totaled 67 kills, hitting .301 ... logged 16 assists and 14 digs to go along with 45 blocks ... registered her first collegiate kill in the Bobcats first game of the season, helping lead the team to a 3-0 victory over ULM ... hit a season-high .833 against Texas ... recorded a season-high seven kills versus Nicholls to help the Bobcats to a 3-2 win over the Colonels ... appeared in more games than any other freshman ... was named to the Fall 2008 Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Second Baptist HS

Helped lead Second Baptist to the 2007 state title after advancing to the state semifinals in 2006 under head coach Sue Berg ... named First Team All-State in Texas in both 2006 and 2007 ... also an all-district pick both years ... was a team captain in the 2007 season ... also lettered in softball for three years.


Personal

Amber Noel Calhoun is the daughter of Jeff and Shelley Calhoun ... father is a pastor, baseball coach and spent five years in the major leagues as a pitcher for the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies ... has three siblings: Hayley, Carly and Jay ... Jay plays baseball for Dallas Baptist ... major is recreational administration.
