Professional Career:
He remained undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft and signed as a free agent with the Buccaneers.

On May 30, 2007, January signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. On March 5, 2008, he was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, along with Ronald Flemons, Toronto's first round selection in the 2008 CFL Draft, and Toronto's second round selection in the 2010 CFL Draft in exchange for Kerry Joseph and Saskatchewan's third round pick in the 2010 Canadian Draft.[2]

January became a free agent and signed the same day with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on January 16, 2009.[3] January won his first nod as a CFL East Division All-Star during the 2011 Winnipeg Blue Bombers season.[4]

Career at Texas Tech:
2005 - First full season as a starter on the offensive line ... played mostly special teams early in career ... strong, physical linemen who has shown tremendous run-blocking ability ... aided in Taurean Henderson being one of the league[apos]s top running backs ... has emerged as one of the team[apos]s top tackles under Leach ... instrumental in success of offensive performance this season ... the unit leads the country in passing for the fourth-straight season and is among the top five scoring offenses in the country ... Tech also has produced the most rushing scores (25) since the 1996 season and has logged over 100 yards rushing per game for the second time under Leach.

2004 - Played in all 12 games ... anchor along the line on special teams ... outstanding performance against Oklahoma State in backup role after Daniel Loper went out with injury.

2003 - Backup on the offensive and defensive lines ... solid special teams member ... played in 12 games.

2002 - Redshirt season.

90th best tackle in the country (Rivals100.com) ... three-time first-team all-district on defense ... first-team all-district as a tight end last season ... second-team all-state tight end and defensive end as a senior ... helped lead team to 46-8 record over four seasons ... team advanced to TAPPS 4A state semifinals each season and won state title sophomore year ... basketball team also won state title during sophomore season ... state finalist in the shot put as a junior ... state finalist in diving.
